I thought it was really a set of bookends when on the first day of the 20 Day course, I got a completely unexpected check from my mortgage company for $2,055 for having over collected my escrow account.
On the last day of the course, I spotted a strange envelope on my front porch (FedEx) from my mortgage company. I had a little clutch when I saw who it was from, but upon opening it found that it was an offer to lower my interest rate on my home loan from 5.5% to 4.25%. This amounts to over $18,000 in interest saved. So… a $20,000 gain on a $990 investment was a nice one.
